After graduating high school as valedictorian, Dr. Michelle Wong attended Cornell University, where she graduated with "distinction in all subjects" in biology.
She then was awarded a full scholarship from the United States Navy to attend the George Washington University School of Medicine. She graduated "with distinction" and went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Wong then practiced for 4 years at the Dewitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, VA. She was awarded the Army Achievement medal for "Outstanding Patient Satisfaction" and received the "Outstanding Teaching Award" from the American Academy of Family Practice for her work with the family practice residents. She was also recognized as an Assistant Professor of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and worked closely with medical students and residents. Dr. Wong was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and resigned her commission after serving 8 years on active duty.
Dr. Wong moved to the Sugar Land area in the summer of 2010 and is excited to be a part of the Sugar Land community. She practices the full range of obstetrics, including taking care of high risk patients that have gestational diabetes, hypertension, and pre-eclampsia. She also specializes in a wide range of gynecology, including minimally invasive surgery techniques, basic infertility, and especially enjoys taking care of young women and adolescents.
Dr. Wong resides in the Sugar Land area with her husband and her 2 sons. She is an active volunteer in the Fort Bend ISD. Besides practicing medicine, Dr. Wong enjoys reading, eating good food and spending time with her family.
Dr. Wong is Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Ob/GYN. Dr. Wong has privileges at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.
Dr. Wong has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery, women's health issues and concerns of all ages and has special interest in adolescent women's health.
